Having watched up till the 12th episode of Growing through Life, there are already a few classics of CG's scene, especially the father and son scenes. In these scenes, without anyone tearing, especially CG, has touched me and made me cry instead. What touched me the most is the part where Mr Ye, a business rival bumped into Albert and Hanson after their lunch. Mr Ye has on several times give really hard pats on Albert's arm, when Albert saw him first he moved backwards when Mr Ye raised his arm, next he slightly tugged Hanson away to show that he is protecting him, next he went in front of Hanson, when Mr Ye's hand finally smacked Hanson's arm. This scene is very well-choreographed.
Albert, up to episode 12, strikes me as a person who 爱恨分明 draws a very clear line between love and hate. Even the sister-in-law he loved, he would not show much compassion. He is a person who values family a lot, a vast contrast to his personality at work. The moment he knows that Hanson was his son, you see him gradually lowering himself to get closer to his son. Check out the scene where he had a meeting with his sister-in-law, and when she commented that he wasn't there when he was younger to hold him, he walked away from the sofa and started wiping his tears with his back to the camera.
Albert is also doubtful of the people around him. (I wonder acts this way, because he felt betrayed by the one he felt
closest to, which is his brother, and of course the 'favouritism' show
by his father.) He may be right about them, but I find perhaps how he treats them causes them to retaliate. Of course, I have to emphasize that I have watched until episode 12 only, and it is certain that Linus has a vengeful streak in him, and that's because he was hurt by the woman he loved dearly and it's because he is poor. But perhaps what triggers Linus' fatal resentfulness is the point where Albert confronted Linus on his choice of advertising firm.
CG's past roles, a few, like Wang Hao Ran in Only You, Leung Pak Yin in Hard Fate has caused me to dislike, in fact despise the personality of the character as a man - his ego, pride, arrogance , however at the same time, will cause me to see the other side of the character and try to justify why they 'act' this way. I would have thought it's just because it's CG, which is why I am eager to turn the 'black' into 'white'. But a few times, friends and relatives have watched the show and also justified why the character is as such. So it all boils down to CG's acting, creating a love and dislike relationship between the audience and his roles, I find this is quite an ultimatum task 顶高境界。
